the next generation of Dance as Art

Sondra Forsyth named 2012 Purpose Prize Fellow

Recognized by for her work with city school children, the founder and artistic director of Ballet Ambassadors, Sondra Forsyth has another reason to celebrate this holiday season.

Sondra, a long time friend, columnist and blogger of this site, has this to say about the recognition:

Each year accepts nominations for the Purpose Prize. Out of hundreds of submissions, between 30 and 40 nominees are chosen based on the value and impact of the work they are doing to help others. Of those selected, the top five win cash prizes and the others are named Purpose Prize Fellows. Winners and Fellows alike receive media coverage that can greatly extend the reach of their organizations’ missions. I hope this honor will help me give more young people than ever the chance to dance with Ballet Ambassadors in the years to come.

Learn more on her blog post and be sure to check out Ballet Ambassadors.

Here is a great gift idea for dance loving friends that doesn't involve fighting mall traffic or getting more 'stuff' -- make a contribution to Ballet Ambassadors for something your friend and Sondra's kids will never forget.
