I'm waiting to hear this too.  I really need some updating in the music dept.!

chirp chirp.... i can hear crickets

really doesnt matter any age..

I don't know if any of these will work for you, but I thought I'd toss them out.  I have a subscription to Rhapsody, and they have a channel called Party Kids.  I update that frequently, just to see what's on there, and these are a few songs I've pulled to use for various classes:

"Like Whoa" - Aly and A. J.

"One in a Million" - Herman Kenin

"Walking on Sunshine" - Jennifer Lopez

"I Turn to You" - Melanie C

"Larger than Life" - Backstreet Boys

"Say it Again" - Melanie Digby

"I'll do Anything" - The Naked Brothers Band

"(Hey You) Free Up Your Mind" - Emma Bunton

"Here We Go" - NSYNC

"You Gotta Be" - Des'ree

"Party Up" - Hillary Duff

"Give A Little Love" - Ziggy Marley

"Good Times" - Slumber Party Girls

"It's Not Just Make Believe" - Anne Hathaway

"Step by Step" - New Kids on the Block

"California Sun" - Brett Anderson

"School's Out for Summer" - yoomii (ok - that's to use later in the year! :)  )

"Volcano" and "Party, Party, Party" - Madagascar Soundtrack

Yep, most of these are for younger kids, and a lot of them are old tunes - but hey, they're probably new to the 8-10 year olds!  I love my Rhapsody!

I have been wondering about Rhapsody Elaine. Think I will check it out. Thanks for the list. Don't have anything to share except that I use a lot of instrumentals of hip hop, sometimes rap, songs my son found for me. The beat is repetitious, the kids love it and I don't have to worry about lyrics!
I am really enjoying Aloe Blacc's album Good Things right now...also The Black Keys album Brothers and for older dancers the Broken Bells self-titled album.
i have been using two door cinema club and also broken bells.... new duran duran cd- my teens think i am weird...they need to GET WITH IT! They want me to use top 40 and i HATE top 40! Always lyrics that surprise me in the middle of a exercie and i have to run to the ipod and skip to another song.. takes up so dang much of my time!

Couldn't agree more Shannon. My teens are the same. I like the good old hits of the

80's? There were some great hits and descent lyrics too.

I hate having to skip a song part way through due to explicits.

Most of my songs are old classics and not top 40. I let my hip hop / funk teacher take care of the cool stuff. Hey, maybe that's why her classes are larger than mine.

Whip My Hair- WIllow

Who's that Chick

We no Speak Americano

Monster- Michael Jackson and 50 cent

Blame it on the Boogie- Jackson 5

These are all fun and keep the class going!
