POP QUIZ #2

How can your studio reduce asthma and allergies
while giving you more energy to dance?

Short Answer:
Improve ventilation and install HEPA allergy filters.

Best Answer:
Install Demand Controlled Ventilation (DCV) and Carbon Dioxide sensors in every dance space.  Use this system to keep Carbon Dioxide levels below the 1000 p.p.m. safe level.  Don't ventilate the studio by opening doors or windows since this can bring in pollen and ozone which will hurt some dancers.  The studio should count on the DCV system to bring in the needed fresh air.  Make sure that HEPA allergy filters are installed on the HVAC system and that they are changed frequently.

Have all water and plumbing leaks fixed by a professional and have all mold removed from the studio.

Remove all chemicals and paints from the studio and connected storage areas.  Use only no-odor low VOC cleaners in the studio.
