Deborah Vogel is the Director of the Institute for Performance
Studies in Oberlin, OH. She is a member of the Advisory Board for
Dance Teacher Magazine and an active neuromuscular educator. Deborah
co-founded the Center for Dance Medicine in New York City with Dr.
Richard Bachrach and currently presents workshops and lectures
nationally on the topics of injury prevention and care and
neuromuscular training.
Deborah’s background in dance as both a performer and teacher,
coupled with her training in neuromuscular studies under Irene
Dowd, allow her to respond to the special needs of dancers. Her
focus is on both educating both dancers and dance teachers on how
to achieve maximum results without harm to the body. Her company,
The Body Series provides a free email newsletter titled Dancing
Smart and produces videos to aid dancers and teacher alike.
