  From The Artist

Beauty, whether captured at the precise moment of experience, lovingly remembered, or painfully longed for, constitutes the focus of my painting. I prefer to work with watercolor, pastel, pencil/charcoal and ink. I utilize these individually and oftentimes in mixed media format. Each commission or study provides me an opportunity to progress beyond a photographic representation regarding the personality and depth of the subject. Twenty years of observing and yearning along with my earlier education as a photographer and sculptor provides the basis. Rendering true feelings supplies the rewards. My aim is to create work embodied with a very real, yet dream-like quality.

For Dream Chasers....looking to the unseen world, an ancient Hawaiian verse best prepares the visitor for that which they will be asked to participate in viewing:

"Run away from childish work, guessing games and mirages. Return to your heart. Dance and laugh in a sacred place, where you will be cared for secretly."

My work for this exhibit has been within my soul forever and its birth to the realm of reality has become my complete focus for the past year. If it is to be successful, it will afford the viewer an opportunity to experience what might have been and what may be, our collective present, past and potential future.
