".....my first watercolor of an earlier series, has been retitled for this collection. This may be significant to only a few, but illustrates an interesting element of the process. Each piece selected for exhibit, usually carries multiple titles in my visualization of their presentation ... final choice is based upon reducing all that the painting 'says' to me to the fewest words that best convey my purpose for its creation.

Titles serve as a window to the inner core of a piece. With Tuesday's Work, I wished to capture what I knew Jennifer had gone through week after week for years as a senior company dancer to prepare herself for rehearsal & performance. If initial training was analogous to the first day, then her barre en pointe - with a focus on preparation for what comes next (through the windows), would be the second step or Tuesday...."
